Welcome to Helen's Project

Welcome. We're glad you're here.

It takes courage to reach out for support. Whether this is your first step or one of many, we honor it. We know paperwork isn't anyone's favorite thing.

We're glad you're here, and we want to make sure your first session is everything it should be.

Who We Are

What HP is

Helen's Project is a telehealth behavioral health nonprofit licensed in 16 states. We believe quality mental health care should be available to anyone, regardless of income, zip code, or background.

Who HP is for

HP is for anyone navigating life's weight — grief, anxiety, relationship stress, trauma, burnout, identity, parenting, and everything in between. We welcome all people, all stories, all walks of life.

How HP is different

We operate on a cross-subsidy model. When you invest in your own healing through Helen's Project, you're also helping fund access for a neighbor who can't afford to pay.

ONE SESSION. TWO HEALED.

Where HP shows up

We're licensed in 16 states and provide care entirely through telehealth. No travel. No waiting rooms. Just accessible, high-quality care — wherever you are.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session is a getting-to-know-you conversation. Your clinician is not there to judge what you bring in the door — they're there to understand it.

You'll have space to share what's been weighing on you, and your clinician will help you figure out together what kind of support makes the most sense for you going forward.

You don't need to have it all figured out. You don't need to know how to explain it perfectly. You just need to show up.

Here's what's NOT happening

  • You're not being diagnosed in session one.
  • You're not committing to anything you're not ready for.
  • This isn't going to feel like being interviewed.
  • There's no "right" way to do this.
  • You get to go at your own pace.

Your Intake Paperwork: What It Is & Why It Matters

Your intake packet isn't just forms — it's how we prepare to meet you. When your clinician sits down with you for the first session, we want them to already know the basics so the hour can go toward what actually matters: you. Completing your intake documents is the first act of care you can do for yourself in this process.

To protect your appointment time and make sure your clinician can prepare, we ask that all intake documents be completed at least one hour before your scheduled session.

If documents aren't completed by that time, your appointment will be automatically canceled so that someone else who needs care can take that spot.

This isn't a punishment — it's how we make sure every person who needs access to care can get it.

Frequently Asked Questions

?

What if I can't afford the full fee?

We offer a sliding scale based on your income. Our cross-subsidy model helps keep care accessible for everyone. Reach out — we'll make it work together.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens. You can reschedule through the client portal or by calling us. We just ask for as much notice as possible so we can offer the time to someone else.

?

Is everything I share confidential?

Yes. What you share in sessions is private and protected by law, with a few important exceptions (like safety concerns). We'll always explain these clearly.

You Belong Here

Reaching out for support is an act of strength. You don't have to have it all together to start.

Helen's Project was built for people who have been told — directly or indirectly — that quality care wasn't for them. That's not how we do things.

Complete your intake if you haven't. Reach out if you have questions. And know this: your clinician is looking forward to meeting you.

We're honored to walk alongside you.
